Giving Back to Lukasezck family

Lukasezck

Bryan Lukasezck, his wife Scarlet, and their daughter Aspen have been a youth hockey family for almost all of 12 yr old Aspen’s life, with Aspen skating, Bryan coaching, and mom Scarlet never missing a chance to cheer them on from the stands. Last July their family had a big scare. After several months of symptoms, Scarlet was diagnosed with a meningioma (for the rest of us, that’s a type of brain tumor). Fortunately it was determined to be benign—phew! But it still required Gamma Knife surgery and ongoing monitoring for several years is in Scarlet’s future.

This incident has left the Lukasezck family with some hefty medical bills, and in need of some moral support. This is where Dawg Nation and you can come together to help this local hockey family. With ice time generously donated by the DU Jr. Pioneers organization, Dawg Nation has organized a public skate as a show of support and fund-raising effort for the Lukasezck family.

When: Sunday December 2. 4:00 PM
Where: Joy Burns Arena at DU’s Ritchie Center
2201 E. Asbury Ave, Denver CO. 80208
What to do: Show up on Sunday, have a great time, support a great hockey family, be part of changing lives!

Tonight we kept the season of giving going as we joined friends and families in support of the Lucasezck family. This past July Scarlet Lukasezck, a hockey wife and hockey mom, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. It was a scary time but as you can see she has a huge support system led by her husband Bryan.

In conjunction with the DU and Colorado Select hockey communities we were able to provide the Lukasezck family with a check for $5,000, which quickly grew to $8,000 to help this terrific family in their time of need. An emotional Scarlet was moved to tears, but made it very clear that she cannot wait to pay it forward herself!
