This year’s Dawg Bowl may look a little different but that won’t preclude us from doing what we do best, GIVE BACK! With a record 48 teams participating this year we anticipate some incredible hockey followed up by incredible giving as we once again focus on those in need. The 2020 edition of the Dawg Bowl means a bit more to us as we celebrate ten years of changing lives. Tons of NHL players, “off the charts” auction, BBQ, contests, smiles, fist bumps and of course a few tears! Please join us as we witness amazing generosity at every turn and lift up those in need while celebrating the game we all love!
All games are open to the public and free of charge.
It is the utmost desire of Dawg Nation Hockey Foundation to provide not only a memorable experience, but also a safe and secure environment. With that in mind, we have several protocols and procedures in place that align with Governor Polis’ “Safer-at-Home” orders for personal recreation. In conjunction with The Edge Ice Arena and the Foothills Park and Recreation District, we will be utilizing the latest guidelines from the Colorado Department of Health and Environment (CDPHE) to help ensure a successful & safe tournament for all.
Unfortunately at this time, No Spectators including family members are allowed in the facility – only players, DNHF volunteers, Edge staff and media. We are working on a plan to broadcast games so your family and friends can enjoy all the action from home or even outside the Edge.

Play Hard, Play Fair, Give Back and… Stay Safe

Platinum Division
Mainline West Top Dawgs
Many past and present NHL players will once again be participating in the tourney’s top division. Milan Hejduk, long time DAWG supporter and board member, will get to play in his first DAWG Bowl. Typically, Milan and his family would be visiting family back in the Czech Republic, but Hedgie (Colorado Sports Hall of Fame) will be wearing the Top Dawgs jersey. He will be flanked by fellow former AVS like Jan Hejda, John-Michael Liles, John Mitchell, Kyle Quincey, Brett Clark, and Kenny Klee.
This year’s Top Dawgs have some impressive NHL stats: 6,519 games, 875 goals, 1,585 assists, and 2,460 points. The Top Dawgs have never won the DAWG Bowl, losing the last two years in the finals. With this line up, they are the pre-tournament favorites.
Troy Terry and the TAG (The Ahbe Group) Team have been training and are primed for an upset. Of course, Denver Concrete, two time defending champion, will be quietly waiting. There is no shortage of top talent across the platinum division.
Our top team, the “Mainline West Top Dawgs” play their first game at 7:10 pm on Friday.
Sled Hockey Exhibitions
Once again we will be hosting a sled hockey exhibition at the annual Dawg Bowl. However this year these tremendous athletes with a “can do” attitude will be taking the ice three times over the course of the weekend! We’ll be hosting a B level, an A level and even a kid’s sled game this year!
There will also be a few tricks up our sleeves as some of the NHL’ers will trade in their skates for a sled and will likely be humbled to the core by amazing athletes!
- Sled Hockey Exhibition – B Level – Friday, July 31st – West Rink – 8:15 pm
- Sled Hockey Exhibition – Kids – Saturday, August 1st – East Rink – 3:25 pm
- Sled Hockey Exhibition – A Level – Saturday, August 1st – East Rink – 6:05 pm
Survivor Game
Our Survivor Game is currently postponed. We wanted to ensure that our Survivors, many that are immune compromised, stay safe. We will be working on a new date for this event. This game is made up of hockey players who have suffered traumatic injury or illness and have come together to share not only a love of the game but also support one another and share their own experiences. Their stories are ones of struggle, courage and support. We will be working to honor our survivor group in a unique way during the tournament.
Survivor Game — Saturday 8/1 – 3:00 pm – East Rink— Don’t Miss It!
Last year’s Dawg Bowl Survivor Game was played in honor of the Humboldt Broncos, a Canadian junior hockey team playing in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.

Our Survivor Game is the highlight of the entire tournament and is made up of hockey players who have suffered traumatic injury or illness and have come together to share not only a love of the game but also support one another and share their own experiences. Their stories are ones of struggle, courage and support.
This year, we offer our unwavering support to all of those that have served our country and honor all that have sacrificed so much to allow us our freedom. As a tribute to our unsung heroes the Survivors will be wearing military themed jerseys this year.
The game is set for Saturday, June 22nd at 3:00 pm. We are incredibly proud to share the “Bronze Star with Valor” recipient, Jason Shepperly, who will be dropping the ceremonial first puck in what is sure to be a very emotional moment.
