Next year Edge Ice Arena will once again come alive for our Dawg Bowl Charity Tournament to benefit adult hockey players facing catastrophic illness or injury.

9th Annual Dawg Bowl – June/20 – June/23 2019

Dawg Bowl VIIIThis year we will have 42 teams in seven divisions battling it out on the ice to take home a Dawg Bowl Trophy and bragging rights.

Many past and present NHL players will once again be participating in the tourney’s top division.

All games are open to the public and free of charge.

Our goal this weekend is for you to have the best hockey experience possible.

Platinum Division

This year’s platinum division includes several current and former NHL pros along with top division players as well. We anticipate two Hobey Baker winners, six former DU captains and upwards of 25 current and former NHL players.

Our top team, the “Mainline West Top Dawgs” play their first game at 7:45 pm on Friday.

Survivor Game — Saturday 6/22 – ?:00 pm –  East Rink— Don’t Miss It!

Humbolt BroncosLast year’s Dawg Bowl Survivor Game was played in honor of the Humboldt Broncos, a Canadian junior hockey team playing in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.

Our Survivor Game is the highlight of the entire tournament and is made up of hockey players who have suffered traumatic injury or illness and have come together to share not only a love of the game but also support one another and share their own experiences. Their stories are ones of struggle, courage and support. Humbolt Broncos jerseyWe offer our unwavering support to the Humboldt Broncos survivors while also honoring those lost. As a tribute to the Broncos, all of the survivors in the Survivor Game will wear Humboldt jerseys. The game this year is set for Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Summit County’s Dave Repsher will be dropping the ceremonial first puck as he will be on hand to inspire us all!

The Humboldt Broncos survivors are:

Graysen Cameron, Brayden Camrud, Kaleb Dahlgren, Bryce Fiske, Morgan Gobeil, Matthieu Gomercic, Xavier Labelle, Layne Matechuk, Derek Patter, Nick Shumlanski, Tyler Smith, Ryan Straschnitzki, and Jacob Wasserman.

Sled Hockey Exhibition – Saturday 6/23 – 4:30 pm –  East Rink

2017 national champs A team 3 peat
Players from Colorado Sled Hockey, including members of the 2017 National Champion Colorado Sled Hockey Association Avalanche team, will hold a special exhibition game at 4:30 pm on Saturday June 23th on the East rink immediately after the Survivor Game.

Members of the Top Dawgs hockey team will also participate in full sled hockey gear to experience a whole new hockey skill set and learn from the pros!

Dawg Nation Hockey Foundation exist to aid those in the hockey community that can use a helping hand.  On Saturday, June 23rd, be sure to be on hand to witness the essence of our organization as four separate check presentations will be made throughout the event.  You’ll see firsthand why one of our motto’s is “we make tough guys cry”.

Deja Voodoo is a unique cover band from Denver. They play an eclectic mix of blues, rock, southern rock and jam band music. The band’s set lists include the Allman Brothers Band, Grateful Dead, Widespread Panic, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Little Feat, Pink Floyd, Doors, Led Zeppelin, Phish, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn….you get the idea!

What distinguishes Deja Voodoo from the crowded cover band scene in the Denver area is their ability to improvise and create their own interpretation of the songs they love to play and play well, anything and everything is possible!

The arena will be alive all weekend. Friday kicks off our “Off the Chart Auction”. As usual we will have items for everyone. Sports memorabilia is high on the list of items available, and we always remember the ladies with spa services, plus feature great family items like adventure packs and gift certificates.
