Cody M. Beekman born in Thornton Colorado June 6th, 1990 is the son of Phil and Debbie Beekman. Cody also has a proud sister Kaleigh and a brother in law Kyle Boesel.

Cody started playing roller hockey when he was 7, started ice hockey at 9. Played on Travel teams through age 18 with Hyland Hills. Currently a member of an adult league hockey team called the Scouts at Promenade Ice Center. He made the Varsity hockey team as a freshmen at Legacy High School. Played baseball and football but Hockey is his true love. Has been a huge Avalanche and DU fan since he was little. Milan Hedjuk is currently his favorite player.

This is a kid who’s loved by all, Always making a joke to make you laugh. Loves music and is always singing. He has a heart of gold and would literally give you his last dime no matter who you are. A while back when he was working part time and was always broke, he only had $20 left from his paycheck but gave it to a single mom outside a Walmart store because she had no money. That’s the kind of guy Cody is. Throughout this major adversity, Cody has maintained an inspiring and determined mentality, caring heart and will still sing songs for his nurses (or anyone else who will listen).

The night of the accident Cody went to a halloween party up in Greeley and had some beers, he got a ride from a sober friend and they all had their seat belts on, a drunk driver ran a red light and the vehicle Cody was in wasn’t able to stop. Cody’s spine was broken at the C2, C3 and C4 area and the bones were forced into his spinal cord. I can only hope and pray that all of Cody’s friends and anyone else will learn from this. Cody hasn’t always been an angel but he’s a good kid and he did everything right that night….sometimes life doesn’t make sense. Guess we just deal with what we’ve got…. Signed Debbie Beekman.
